Nishya grew up in the central Province of Sri Lanka. She graduated from the University of Peradeniya in May 2015 with a B.S. in Chemistry. She is now a Ph.D. student at the University of Connecticut on the organic track. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, drawing, and driving.
